About Us

Our Story
Johnny’s Chicken & Waffles – an original concept introduced to metro-Atlanta by notable partners Crystal Smith and Ne-Yo, as well as Karlie Redd from VH1’s Love n’ Hip Hop and Bounce TV’s Saints & Sinners – is set to open December 2020 in College Park. The 85-seat indoor dining space will provide full-menu service and will feature booths, tables, high tops and bar seating. A take-out counter will serve pies baked fresh daily and a selection of café goods.

As the name suggests, the restaurant’s signature menu item is the most popular brunch food in Georgia: chicken & waffles. The hybrid dish that combines breakfast and lunch is made with crispy and juicy fried chicken paired with fluffy and golden waffles. Johnny’s Chicken & Waffles' guests will have the option to customize the famed Southern staple with mix-and-match proteins, plain or bacon-flavored waffles, sauces and add-on sides. Other sweet, savory and satisfyingly good grub include party starter Cheddar Drop Biscuits with whipped honey butter and strawberry preserves; Hot Skillet Cobbler desserts in apple or peach served with vanilla bean ice cream and salted caramel drizzle; Saints & Sinners Brioche French Toast Log served with either bacon, sunny side eggs and crispy garlic potatoes or berries, whipped topping and chocolate sauce; and The Mac Attack Chicken Sandwich with crispy chicken breast, creamy mac & cheese, bacon, sriracha aioli and a toasted bun. In addition, diners will be treated to a special affair – all champagne orders come with a sparkler! Guests can also sip on signature drinks designed to share and served in carafes. Individual beverages are served in mason jars.

Fourteen platinum albums from famous Atlanta-bred musicians will grace the walls of the restaurant. Ranging from R&B, Rap and Hip Hop, the collection will highlight names like OutKast, Ne-Yo, Ludacris, Usher and more. Impressive original pieces of artwork, a mural of Harlem-based Apollo Theater and Insta-worthy neon signage that reads “Everyday I’m Waffle’n” contribute to the music scene-influenced atmosphere of Johnny’s Chicken & Waffles.

“Ne-Yo and I aim to make everyone feel at home at Johnny’s Chicken & Waffles, and you never know who you’ll see dining alongside you! Anyone who appreciates music will love the ambiance we created in our dining room, with awards and plaques from Ne-Yo, myself and some of our closest friends, said Karlie Redd, hip-hop artist, actress and Johnny’s Chicken & Waffles partner. “Who doesn’t love some amazing chicken and waffles, while listening to some amazing music! We hope to see you if you’re in College Park.”

I liked what I had. We’ve been there a couple of times. Early in their opening. Everybody liked their food. Wife wasn’t too happy with Mac and cheese 2nd time around, but loved it the 1st time. They have some interesting items on the menu I still want to try.
